Privacy Policy
Desktop Duck collects no personal data, no telemetry, and no accounts. Here's exactly what that means.
Desktop Duck collects nothing about you. Specifically:
The app has no knowledge of who you are, what system you're running, or how you use it.
Desktop Duck runs entirely on your device. It makes no network requests during normal use. The only exception is an optional update check: when enabled, the app pings GitHub's public API to compare your installed version number against the latest release. No identifiers are sent — only a standard HTTP request that GitHub logs like any other web request.
The update check can be disabled at any time from the control panel. When disabled, the app is completely offline.
The Desktop Duck website uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies for ad personalisation as part of their advertising network. We do not control Google's data collection practices.
Please see Google's Privacy Policy for full details on how they handle data.
The website itself sets no first-party cookies, collects no analytics, and does not run any tracking scripts beyond Google AdSense.
If you choose to submit a bug report via our form, we receive:
This data is used solely to investigate and fix the reported bug. It is not sold, shared with third parties, used for marketing, or retained longer than necessary.
For any privacy-related questions or requests, please open an issue on GitHub at github.com/TheHiddenALien/desktop-duck. This is the fastest way to reach the developer.
If this privacy policy changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Given that Desktop Duck collects nothing, meaningful changes to this policy are unlikely.
